Editor's review
PDF to eBook Converter is a batch converter of PDF formatted documents into the ePub format. ePub file, in its turn is compatible to Open Publication Structure (OPS) and Open Packaging Format (OPF) specifications. That format is a popular one and is compatible to a whole range of eReader devices, iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch, Sony Reader, etc. for example. The layout of the source document is completely preserved in the converted document. You can choose to have each page of the PDF to be converted into images when converting to the ePub format. This makes it easy to preserve complicated layouts and formatting. You can convert selected pages rather than the complete document, if you want. There is no need for the Adobe Acrobat to be present at any stage of the conversion process.
The interface is simple and straightforward but does not look very pleasing like most converter programs. May be it is the choice of the font on the interface! Once the list of the documents is made, you choose if you want to convert text and images into the ePub documents or want to convert the whole thing as images per page. If a page range is required, that too can be chosen from the interface. That brings up the other disadvantages of the tool. All these settings apply to all the documents in the list. That does not make much sense. The image feature is for complex formats and that is likely to be a rare situations. Similarly you are not likely to use the same range of pages from all the documents at one time.
